Stop Believing Your Feelings

One thing I have noticed about feelings is that they can change in an instant.

We have created a whole belief system around our feelings…

Good feelings

Bad feelings

Indifferent feelings all mean something to us.

Good – Great, let’s have a wonderful day doing things that are fun and we’re going to enjoy.

Bad – Let’s stay in bed all day with our head under the covers

Indifferent – Well… that could go either way, but generally, it’s a bit of a meh feeling that none of us really want to participate in.

We’re all searching for those good feelings to be motivated and happy and excited. Whereas, we can be all of those things before we feel the feelings.

Feelings are indicators of what is going on around us, not necessarily what is going on within us. Which is why, when you realise that feelings don’t mean much, you can “feel the fear and do it anyway” courtesy of Louise Hay.

How are you feeling right now?

Happy, sad, depressed, anxious, joyous or something else? That’s wonderful! Your antennae to pick up what is going on outside of you is working.

Now think back over the past week, month and year and give me a guestimate of how many feelings you have felt? A mega lot I’m guessing. And how did these feelings effect your life? Were these feelings true for you or were they something that was there until the next feeling came along?

Most of the time our lives are run by our thoughts or feelings and until we realise that they are simply there to let us know what’s going on with our external reality and not our own inner world, we can be sabotaged by them every moment of every day.

The majority of the time the feelings are not a premonition for what is going to happen throughout your day. Most of the time, the feelings will create your day, so you have the ability to change that and let go of the control these feelings have over us.

I will concede that there are some feelings that are a premonition, but from my experience and those that I have worked with who have accurate premonitions, they are very different from your run of the mill feelings that we know so well.

And when we let go of the idea that every feeling has the ability to foretell the future, you will find that your psychic ability in whichever form it may be, will become stronger.

Let me ask you some questions to alleviate the weight of the feelings that hinder you and your higher expression will start to shine through…

Is it time for you to let go of the importance we place on our feelings and go about our day?

Is it time for you to let go of the meaning we give our feelings?

Is it time for you to realise that feelings come and go and they have very little to do with our life and how we would like to live it.

This morning I woke up with a debilitating anxiety attack.

I have learned that an attack like this has no bearing on what is going on in my life and that there is someone in my frequency who is having difficulties with their life. Generally, it will be a client that will ring me in the next couple of days with an issue and the feeling will go away.

If I took this anxiety to mean something in my life, I wouldn’t be able to get out of bed and I certainly wouldn’t be able to do any of the work I have planned for the day.

The first thing that I do, is to be gentle yet tough with myself.

I feel the anxiety, no doubt. It is a physical attack on my system… so I breathe.

I take the time to allow the love from the universe to infuse my body and my being while I breathe.

I give gratitude to my body and my being while I breathe and I trust that this feeling will pass.

I am also propped up in bed writing this post so that I can share the process with anyone else who has ever suffered from anxiety while I breathe.

Intellectually, I know that I am safe and there is no need to be anxious, so I breathe.

If you find that you suffer from the feeling trap, there are a couple of steps that you can take that will allow you to let it go.

  1. Say to the feeling, “Thank you for the heads up, but you can return to whomever you belong.”
  2. Write about it. Getting it down on paper (or on your computer) is very cathartic.
  3. Breathe… 4 counts in, hold for 4 counts and 4 counts out.
  4. Know that you are not your feelings and that they do not have to control what you do in your life.

You can live your life without giving these feelings that aren’t your’s any thought or meaning. You don’t need to delve into the “why!” to resolve them as they are giving you the gift of coming back to present when you breathe through them.

So how do you feel today?

Are you going to let those feelings that aren’t even yours control your life or are you going to live the life of your highest expression?

PS. By the time I finished writing this post, I had an understanding of where the anxiety was coming from and it stopped affecting me. Pretty cool!

What If This Is All BS?

A few weeks ago, I was at lunch with a couple of friends and I called bullshit!

I called bullshit on myself and what I write on this website which shocked them completely. I do love shocking people.

Let me start at the beginning…

We were having a conversation about whether or not we believed in what I do for a living or what I write about on this website and as I know that everything – beliefs, knowings, truths are all flexible and changeable in a moment, I made the suggestion that everything on this site is bullshit.

Most people won’t understand this because they hold their beliefs so tight that if someone questioned them, their defences would rise and it would be on for young and old.

I don’t happen to be one of those people – or maybe this is a belief that I am flexible and changeable! However, it really doesn’t matter to me if someone doesn’t believe in what I write, say or do. It does matter to me wether I am giving value to my readers and clients and that they are transforming with the contribution of my facilitation.

Getting back to why I called bs and I think this can be a great suggestion for anything you come across in your life…

Don’t believe what other people say. Check in with your knowing and see if it resonates with you in this moment. You’re the only one who can be your own bs detector.

Don’t necessarily use other people’s findings as the be all and end all. Research can be skewed, writing comes through the writer’s filters and we are always finding new and interesting information.

Not so long ago, the atom was the smallest…. not true anymore.

Not so long ago, the earth was flat and the earth was the centre of the universe.

Not so long ago, we thought that disease was purely physical… yet many of my clients can tell you that it is not.

My point is that we really don’t know what we don’t know, so maybe it’s best to keep an open mind about any information we receive and ask more questions about it.

The universal energy loves an inquiring mind. It brings in creativity, ingenuity and so-called miracles for us to wonder at and go beyond the limitations that we are surrounded by.

What do you know about life, love and the universe?

Probably a lot more than you’re acknowledging. And if you care to acknowledge what you know, you’ll probably allow yourself to acknowledge that there is more information available to you than you could ever realise.

So, I call bullshit on everything that I have ever said and everything that i have ever written so that you can connect in with your being, your knowing and ask, “In this moment, is this true for me? And am I willing to go beyond any limitations that would prevent me from being the oneness of all that is?”

By asking questions like this, you’ll find that you’re own knowing will expand exponentially and you’ll start to remember all the things you don’t know that you know and bring in all the things that you may need to know for your life to be lived in alignment with your highest expression.

An exercise for you… if you wish… is to read through this website and read the information, then check in with your knowing and ask yourself if it is true for you. If it’s not, ask are you willing to connect with what is true for you? And write in the comments what you have come up with.

This process is amazing, but don’t take my word for it… try it out for yourself and learn what is true for you now and what will be true for you in the future, so that you can develop your inner strength and know who you really are.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if Ms or Mr Right showed up out of the blue?

What Are You Willing To Give Up

Many of us struggle to let go of ideas, beliefs and physical things because we are afraid of what we might lose.

We won’t give something up because we may need it in the future…

Somewhere..

Sometime…

We don’t actually know if we will need it or use it, but JUST IN CASE, we’re going to hold onto it for dear life!

And we do this because we don’t believe that in that far off moment we will be supported by our life and the Universe.

We believe that if we give something up, that’s it. We are doomed to be rudderless forever!

A little dramatic I know, yet this is what I see on a regular basis.

Even though we preach abundance, we still believe in scarcity because we are not willing to give up something, simply because we don’t believe that we will be supported and given other opportunities to create something beyond our current thinking for this mythical future event.

I’ll simplify this a little with something physical and then I’ll move onto something a little bigger.

My Father in Law (who has transitioned, yet is still very much a part of our lives), collected boxes. I only knew him physically for a short period of time, yet when it was time to clean out his garage, one of the most used sentences was…

“Good box that!”

He was a collector of boxes. Small ones, big ones, ones that may be used for something (who knows what) in the future. As if when this future time came, he wouldn’t be able to go and get a box that would suit the contents then, when that moment in the future became the moment of now.

My Step Dad has this affliction although he has had to cut it down due to lack of storage space in his new home and my husband has it too.

It’s a little bit of fun and doesn’t hurt anyone, yet how does it relate to your thoughts and beliefs about an abundant and supportive universe?

When we’re not willing to give up the little things in life, it is much harder to give up the bigger ones and they are the things that hold us back the most.

Those things that we hold on so dearly are stopping us from finding and receiving love, from creating a successful business, developing lasting friendships and being a conduit of love.

When we are willing to give up everything in life, our thoughts, our feelings, our emotions and our physical possessions we are then given the space to be open to amazing opportunities. As the saying goes, “One door closes and another one opens.” This is true for whatever you are willing to give up.

I played with a process the other day and maybe you can too.

Look around your house… what are you willing to give up?

Your clothes?

Your bed?

Your computer?

Your phone?

Your food?

Your whole house?

Remember, you don’t actually have to give these things away if they are serving you in this moment and they enhance your life. The process is for you to energetically give these things up.

And then we can move on to emotions…

What are you willing to give up?

Sadness?

Depression?

Anxiety?

Hopelessness?

Anger?

Happiness?

Joy?

Love?

Are you willing to give up the good with the bad?

Good and bad are both sides of the same coin, so if you’re not willing to give up one energy, you’ll still have it lingering in the background because you’re attached to the other side of the coin.

Are you willing to give it up and see what is beyond your beliefs?

Play with the process and see how much clearer you become. You may find that your world opens up to so many possibilities that simply weren’t there for you before because you were holding onto the scarcity of not trusting that there is always more.

Are you willing to give up your friends, family, children, job, money, career, etc, etc?

What if you were?

Would you?

Could you?

When?

And Sometimes Life Is Chaos

Most Fridays I go to my parent’s place to work and have a catch-up.

It is one of my most productive and chaotic days of the week. For some reason, neither of my parents think I do much of anything, so because I am within calling distance, I am able to assist them with anything they think is of utmost importance to them.

I hear this a lot with parents who are trying to start a new business or carve some time for themselves. Between work and the kids and their partner, etc, etc., where do they find the time to make space for what they would like to create and develop.

What I have found is that when you are busy, time becomes a lot more fluid. You are able to create in a short amount of time, what would normally take you 3 times longer. You are able to connect with self quicker and more easily simply because you have to. There is no time to mess around. You just do it.

This is one of the reasons I teach people to connect with their knowing quickly.

Sure, you can take the time to go slowly and luxuriate in the moments between your breath. You can take more than a moment to connect with the earth and then with the centre of the universe before bringing the energy into your centre and then allowing the energy to flow out to all, while still staying connected with your centre.

Or you can say, “Centre” and be there in an instant.

It may feel a little different, yet it will still have the same power, the same outcome as if you go slowly.

The main reason people focus on the slower, meditative way is because so many people would benefit from slowing down every so often. I meditate the slow way. Yet I also connect with my centre the quick way too.

It’s good to have options and on Friday’s I’m generally going down the fast lane knowing that my higher self can move a lot faster than I give it credit.

Many people when they come to me are suffering because of the chaos in their lives. The juggling of the balls in the air, thinking that life as they know it will come to an abrupt end if they drop one of these balls.

I wonder what would happen if they learned not only to slow down and breathe but to speed up and thrive in the chaos? What if you could trust that the universe does not give you anything that you can’t handle? What if you could connect to your centre, your inner knowing in an instant and although you are running a hundred kilometres an hour, you are exhilarated at the end of the day rather than exhausted?

There are 3 things to consider when you are jumping into the enjoyment of chaos.

  1. Does it really matter?What is the worst case scenario if you drop the ball? Will anyone die? Will people be disappointed? Maybe, maybe not but in the grand scheme of things over all the millions of lifetimes you’ve lived, this moment is just that, a single moment and if you drop the ball there will be consequences but I’m sure you’ll be able to deal with them. You may even find that something better happens that you hadn’t even thought of.
  2. Breathe.Many of us stop breathing when in chaos. We go into fight or flight and our adrenals take over. What if we could put the timer on our phone? 15 minute intervals where you remind yourself to breathe and enjoy the chaos.
  3. Know that you are being supported.We are told that we only use 10% of our brain. If this is the case, then what if we are aware of only 10% of our being – 10% of who we are? What if, even though we are unable to connect with the other 90%, it is still there supporting the 10% that sometimes feels a little lost. If you trusted that you’ve got this, you are supported even if it doesn’t feel like it. You are going to be all right.

When you play with those 3 aspects you’ll find that the chaos of your life, the drama of others and the pace of your life is fun. It’s a game and creativity, collaboration and enjoyment can come from whoever you are with.

There are people who thrive in chaos and there are others who like the quieter side of life. Neither way is better, it is simply a preference. My thoughts are… What if you could enjoy both?

Taking Inspired Action

I really have not been a fan of this saying.

Mainly because I’ve been wanting to do things in my business, yet there has been no inspiration to do them.

It has simply been… “This is what I should do for my clients”.

And let me tell you, it’s been a struggle.

So of course I started to ask some questions, started connecting in with my higher self and guess what?

Inspiration!!!!!

Clients have been asking for me to do this for years.

And I’m finally getting around to organising it.

A 3 day retreat in Bali!

Woohoo!!!

It is an interesting process, because I’ve never said never to doing a retreat, but I simply never saw myself doing it.

Until I woke up the other day and BAM!

I knew I had to get it organised… and now.

Talk about Universal flow!

So now I have 2 inspired projects on the go My Partner Is Being An Ass (Scott came up with the name) and the Divine Love Intensive.

Both will be worthwhile to me and women with relationship issues, however, I need to take action.

Have you ever been in a situation where you think you should do something and it simply doesn’t flow?

Those are the things I recommend (if it’s not life threatening) to let go and do the things you’re inspired to do.

When inspiration hits, action flows more easily.

You still need to keep your eye on the outcome, yet the action steps fall into place and you create a lot faster than you would ordinarily do by forcing yourself to do things.

Let me give you a tip…

When inspiration hits, you’ll come up with a multitude of reasons not to take action.

It won’t work.

What if I end up losing money?

What if I don’t have anything of value to give?

And if we’re talking about inspired action in relationships…

What if they don’t… (fill in the blank)?

What if?

What if?

What if?

Forget about all the what if down questions.

Start asking the what if up questions…

What if it does work out?

What if life is better because of it?

What if… wow!

Forget about all the niggles and connect in with that part of you that is inspiring you.

I’m not suggesting you sit around waiting for inspiration.

That would be silly.

Asking questions about your day would be a good place to start.

What will inspire me today?

What action is required today to complete this task?

What can I be and do to create something beyond my imagination?

What if I had more joy and love in my life than I could ever imagine?

When you’re finished (as if you ever finish) with your questions let them go and get on with your day.

And if you really want some inspiration, ask!

Before you go to sleep at night, ask…

What am I going to be inspired by when I wake up?

And let your other than conscious mind come up with the answer when you’re asleep.

You may want to keep a notepad and pen by your bed because the answers are what will wake you up in the middle of the night.

If that happens, write them down and trust that if it is for your highest good, you will remember them and take action on them when the time is right.

Just as I am trusting that 10 people will be coming to the Divine Love Intensive in Bali – October 2016…

If it is for the highest good of all.

I Have Absolutely Nothing To Do!

What if you had absolutely nothing to do?

Just imagine it…

Allow it to resonate into your body, your system and deep into your soul…

Can you feel it?

Can you feel the tension dissipate as you allow yourself to relax and literally allow your body to unwind from everything that you need to do throughout your day.

Having time off from your busy life seems to be nearly impossible.

What with work, kids, partners, other family and your “me” time, there is no more time in the day to do nothing.

I’m writing this post today because I have a huge amount to do and a very strict deadline place on me by me!

And this is what many of us do.

We run the world!

We run our world!

There is simply no time to do nothing.

And when we do nothing we are generally doing something…

  • watching tv
  • helping out a friend
  • looking after kids

This is our down time.

So, what do we do to change this?

What do we do so that we can still do it all in the limited time that we have and still have time to do nothing?

Apart from getting someone else to do everything you need to do, we’re really in a bit of a quandary!

The first step to allowing space for nothing is to acknowledge that time is man made.

It’s a construct that we have put in place so that we can wrap our minds around the fact that everything is happening now, but we perceive it as past, present and future.

Let me give you an example of this…

Have you ever felt that you’ve lost time?

You were doing something that was taking all your focus and you don’t even know where the time has gone?

One minute it was 9am and the next 1pm?

And then on the other hand, have you ever felt that time stretched into eternity and you were wishing for the endpoint to appear?

Usually that happens when we’re really not enjoying ourselves.

So how does this help us when we would really like nothing to do?

What if you didn’t really want to have nothing to do?

What if you simply wanted the feeling – the relaxed unwinding of your body – that doing nothing creates?

Well that’s easy!

As you go about your day, say to yourself…

“What if I had absolutely nothing to do today?”

And take a deep breathe…

As you start to feel the ease creep into your body you can repeat the affirmation throughout your day.

“I have absolutely nothing to do today!”

“I have absolutely nothing to do today!”

And guess what?

Saying “I have absolutely nothing to do today” will allow your energy to open up to more flow to happen in your life.

Things will magically start to fall into place and you’ll wonder where you got all this extra time.

It’s a crazy little tip and yet it works every time I have a crazy busy day.

What if you could use it on a regular basis?

How would that change your day, your week, your life?

You don’t need to answer these questions because as you read them, they are being asked to your other than conscious mind who is creating a way to show you how easily your life will flow.

Could you be in flow?

When?

Catching Up In Life

Have you ever felt like you’ve lost time?

I have over the past 2 weeks and now I feel so far behind in everything I had planned.

Long story short I gave myself a concussion and have been in bed for the past 2 weeks with a huge headache AND my darling husband banned all devices from the room.

Talk about trauma!

And I don’t mean the headache 😉

These are the things I was going to do during the last 2 weeks…

  • I had just started running instead of walking the dogs every day and I was going to continue.
  • I was in a 30 days of content challenge with Learn to Blog and I was really enjoying it.
  • I was going to design our kitchen for our new house.
  • I was creating a new free program for all of you to enjoy.

So instead of trying to catch up and stress myself out, I’m living from now.

If I thought about all the things that I was supposed to do in my business from the last 2 weeks I would probably have an anxiety attack and that’s not the most productive way to spend time.

I’m choosing flow.

I’m asking questions about what to do first.

I have put a list of intentions in place and I am asking for help (from sources unknown).

When the unexpected happens in your life and messes with your plans there are a couple of things you can do

  1. Start from where you are
  2. Start from where you are and if you have time do a little catch up
  3. Start from where you left off and allow it to be in the here and now, not from the past
  4. Start from where you left off and get stressed because you will be working from the past and not from the now.

At this point I’ll probably be doing a little bit of 2 and some of 3 depending on the tasks.

You are here.

You are in the present time.

You are working to the best of your ability.

It wasn’t your fault that you got hit on the head/you messed up your diet/you didn’t go to the gym cos you were lazy/your life got turned upside down or any other situation that may have occurred.

However, it is your responsibility with how you get back on track at this point in time.

This process works really well when you fall off the bandwagon for any target you are trying to achieve.

The trick is to remember not to beat yourself up about the time you have lost.

What you should have done.

What you could have done.

What you didn’t do.

Start now. Start in the present.

And as my headache is coming back I’m going to use some amazing Renu28 and hop off this computer for a little while.

You Know Everything You Need

It’s time to look within.

It’s been time for a long time but if you’re reading this and you’re ready… It’s time.

I see people in everyday life struggling.

Trying to figure out why tragedy and illness are happening in their lives.

I went through a stage like this, believing I was the victim of circumstances and asking for help from all directions to change the way my world seemed to be attacking me.

And sometimes when life isn’t doing what it’s told, I feel the possibility of me sliding back into victim hood where I look for answers outside of me.

I heed other’s opinions over my own inner knowing. I look for answers in what others may be able to do for me, rather than looking within.

What I have learned during these times… because other people’s answers are never to my satisfaction, is that the only answers I require comes from within me.

And the only answers you require come from within you. Click To Tweet

When you’re searching outside of yourself anxiety is bound to occur because nothing will truly resonate with you unless it comes from within.

I was asked today what courses I would recommend to be able to do what I do.

I said that (for this particular person) that I don’t recommend any. She has all the qualifications she requires. It is now up to her to find the answers from within.

So how do we find the answers?

Well… we ask questions!

If I’m stuck and don’t know what questions to ask, I ask…

“What questions can I ask to bring more clarity to this situation?”

And I let it go….

I’m not asking questions to anyone or anything specific and I’m not looking for answers from anyone or anything.

If you need something to quieten your mind, you could say you’re asking the Universe or your other than conscious mind. That’s up to you.

So think about something that’s going on in your life.

Something that may be frustrating you or if you don’t know what to do about something specific and ask…

  • What information will give me more clarity with ….?
  • If I choose … will my life, energy, joy, money flows be enhanced?
  • What am I doing to me that is reflected in this other person?
  • What if this situation turns out better than I could even imagine?

Open your mind and allow the questions to flow…

“What is the next step for me in this situation?”

And then take a breath.

Let the questions go.

The answers will come to you… in a minute, an hour, a day, a month, a year…

They will come when you are able to hear them.

What if you already knew the answers? (Which of course, you already do).

What would you say to yourself?

Imagine it’s a friend of yours asking the questions, what would you say?

All the answers are within you.

It seems that next month in the Divine Love Club, the intention is going to be to come from within. To know what we know and beyond and to feel safe our own knowing.
